I’m no expert, but those plugs look lean AF to me.

The way it’s been explained to me. It’s ashy build up from the carbon gunk. Am willing to be wrong. But not right now. Cuz that’ll mean the homie’s GTI is in peril

Black, is soot. Black & wet is fouled (rich).

White is lean/hot

This, if it’s all four and runs good/gets normal mileage I wouldn’t be too concerned.

If he had just one looking lean I’d suspect a injector, but as a result the other three plugs would be darker than normal (AFR only knows the total, not individual cylinders so the extra fuel to maintain AFR would be on them).
