Which one, and which mount?
We used the post from my Rho Plate V2 and the mount my friend had for his insta 360 threaded right into it without modification. It was the insta 360 one x2 for the camera.

so they will cost more than 376 each if things go well? they look amazing, would be quite interested but faaack. not sure i could ever justify it lol
the great part for you though of course is, noone else makes R replacement tips so you would be in business for sure.

in the end those tips will really on with his setup for perfect fitment. not to mention wont work at all as a simple replacement tip since the factory R has 4 separate pipes.

pretty sure he means pre orders for the full kit.

Nice, just picked the camera up and a mount for third person view. Next trip to the dragon should be insane.

Rad. I also bought a hard mount for the headrest and put my GoPro MAX in the middle of the car for 360 video for the first 2 runs. Lots of power sliding was captured.

@GTI Jake

Could you make quad tips that would fit a GTI AWE track exhaust?

The $376 is the cost of the mild steel on my trailer, which I use for building weld fixtures (allowing me to make the same part identical to an original, thus being able to ship bolt on parts)

Exactly! The OEM tips are individual ovals (even the steel under the chrome caps), these are specifically for my full R TBE.

The pre order feeler is to judge if I should just offer the DP/MP (which will fit Mk7 & 7.5) or go all the way and also offer a full TBE as a product that can be built to order and ship wherever.

This guy knows! Material costs are absolutely insane, that same pile would’ve been $120ish three years ago (and I didn’t have to drive a hour round trip to get it then either).

I’m only about half way done building those, but I think it would be cost prohibitive.

$200 in materials for what you see there, and 1.5Hrs of labor (so far, about half way done)…that’s before adding inlets to them, as I haven’t decided if it’ll 45 or straight in. That $200 isn’t including anything for the inlets, the scrap I had to weld on to be able to cut the Y pipes, or the consumables used to make them (three hours or so worth of Argon is like buying a full tank of 93 octane for your car).

Realistically to sell those as a bolt on for someone else’s system it would be $500 for the pair (kinda silly on a $800 crush bent AWE 2.25” exhaust).

Yeah, but it would look good......
I got a quad tip GTI setup in the "loading phase" to replace my current diy custom set up... even with my cheap way of buying the bits here and there - the project is already costing me waaay more than my 15sec assumption was :ROFLMAO:  this is now going be round 3 of spending money on the rear diffuser/valence on the same car.

And I didn't pay $800 for my system...🤷‍♂️.

Oh well.

I’ve seen AWE CBE go for $100 used, and some have paid $1,000 for a new one.

Just being upfront about what it costs to build this stuff.

Yeah, about that haha. If I added up the different systems that have been on my car I’d 💀…don’t let the wife see that number.

I built a $2,000 catback for her GLI, ran it for a month and took it off to build weld fixtures. Got 4 of 5 done and realized hey nobody’s bought one of these yet and stopped, so I’m well over 2k into it and it was so far for nothing. One of these days I’ll build that last fixture and at least put it back on her car.

Can’t get hung up on “misses” as there’s no getting that time/money back. Hopefully someone will buy a GLI CBE someday, at lease the FMIC/DP/MP for them have sold.
