I'd really recommend crc silaramic, especially where the pins might rub on the pads. What noise are you having? Are you using a good street pad, or trying something a bit more performance -oriented?

Sounds like a violin, If I press the paddle just right at under 5mph, It can be very loud almost like train. But during normal driving it comes and goes, mostly when turning from stop or creeping in traffic. Once I let go of the paddle, it will persist up to 5 - 10mph but incrementally, almost like a bad bearing.

I can't seem to find it anywhere in the UK, do you know anything of equivalent? I tried 3 different sets of pads: Hawk HPS Ceramic pads, Ferodo street pads, and some Pagids that came with the car, all had same issue. I also tried two different brake discs, Brembo 340mm and MTEC 345mm.

Are they mounted correctly to the hub. The fact that turning has an affect, I'd look there.

will the ferodo 3.12 fit? anyone have the p/n? i checked their site and they say only the ds2500 are compatible which i dont want. do i just order 3.12's and say the 1001 version??

btw the soft pedal isnt a bleed issue its a small pump problem. can be fixed with gold version wilwood inline in wheel well.

i've had these brakes 2 years now so far so good looking for more aggressive pads, i got them with stock porsche pads. i am using the 2pc DBA 345mm rotors.

passat bitdi > r8 wheels (no spacers required) cup2 tires, 310hp/480ftlbs 2.0 tdi haha

Looks good. See if they sell the pads for 2003 - 2016 Subaru STI or Mitsu EVO.

It's 2 issues. They are a high retraction caliper and these cars are hard to bleed.

Reassembling with Castrol RRG and 30 psi bleed firms them up too.

The valve you installed can cause pads to drag.

FCP1334G/FRP3067G, depending on how thick you want (1334 is thicker than the pagid shape listed in OP, 3067 is thinner).

RPVs are one band-aid, you could also fit a small anti-knockback spring, which would also exacerbate pad drag.

perfect thanks, im thinking the thicker ones, the pads i had originally were maybe the macan pads someone sold me, i was able to write down the p/n:

ahp786h-2 akebono
95b.615.115.h

i think porsche pads are 15.8? so the 1334 i see are 16mm i assume i used up at least 0.2mm of discs at least over 2 years so might not drag... even with the rpv things got noticeably soft again after a while

Gonna install them this week and it dawned on me WHAT IF IT DOESN'T FIT OH MY GAAAAAAWD!!!!!!! Enkei RPF01 18x7.5 +48. Worst case scenario sell it for a loss? Buy new rims? But then I'll be playing the guessing again of "Will it fit?" Plus I'll probably need new tires and I just got tires in Nov. Got 20mm spacers in case the 15mm I have now don't work.

This thread has been great.. I appreciate everyone’s contributions.

On that note.. the wheel fitment list only had 17” Enkei RPF1’s. I’ve been running 18’s for the last couple years and was nervous about the fit. Tonight I did a quick bolt up and have confirmed fit.

Enkei RPF1 18”x8” ET35 fit with no spacer and about a 3-4mm clearance from the highest spot on the face.

I will sleep better knowing I can put it all together later this week🤣

Stupid question time, what is this little clip on the pads. Did I put these pads in wrong?
As someone said, it's for wear. It makes noise when pads are worn.

Don't just wait for the squeal though. Periodically look at pad material, as pads can wear unevenly.

Went to install it today. Enkei RPF1 18x7.5 +48 DO NOT FIT. Could not get the hub to sit flush. With 15mm spacers it looked like it fit? Maybe 1mm? Driver side spun it seemed fine, but when I tried the passenger side it definitely was hitting and scratching the surface at the very edges (see photo 3). I did not tighten down the lug nuts all the way so maybe that could be the reason. Either way too close for comfort. 20mm spacers work (photo 4) but my studs are only 43mm so barely any thread.
Went to bleed and it started dumping out the bottom of one of the cross over tubes. Tried tightening it but it just spun; I think some powder coating might have seeped in and I cross threaded it  Soooooo I gotta find a shop to fix it, or buy a new passenger side caliper and have it powder coated again

Can I run a helicoil? Couple videos online where they use it. Not sure if it will hold fluid though.
