I went with Option A. Replaced the battery for $30 and so far the phone is back to working like new.

Thanks for all the helpful advice, we’ll see how long it keeps up with the ever increasing size of updates.

Now maybe I can justify TTRS brakes to the wife as a reward for being old/cheap about my phone lol

Cleaned the port, you guys were right on the lint... good as new! Also got the battery replaced. Looks like I’m keeping this one for awhile.
