Yep still runs well. I took it off because I decided to get flashed with unitronic 
Had a blast with the jb1 though. When u first plug it in, it takes a few pulls for the car to adapt. It's a very noticeable difference in power, lots of fun. I just left it on the stock map 1 and that was enough for me. Oh and it is group 2, for the mk7 gti.
