Do GTIs with the Performance Package use the same downpipe as a regular GTI?

Or does it take a different one

Dumb question probably...but I want to make sure

Yep, same one. But I did snap a picture of an R DP a couple weeks ago (no it doesn't fit on ours) and it looks to be different. I expected it to be more more similar, but the material it's made of even looked different... Like cast.

There was a thread about this...I'll try to dig it up. Apparently not all aftermarket downpipes fit the PP cars due to the limited slip differential.

I have a PP and did some shopping around for my DP. Must of them will fit, if not the vendor will mention it on its website. The difference with the PP is the LSD.

Yep I know 42DD does not fit a PP... I think there are 1 or 2 others, but most do fit.

Just a heads up....

Removing the DP on a Performance Pack car is a pain if you don't have a lift.

It can be done with only jack stands, but it is difficult.

Nah mine wasn't too bad using rhino ramps. Just make sure you remove the axle shield. Took 1 1/2-2 hours at most from start to finish but I could probably do it in half if that now.
