Lol indeed. I'm not modding my truck, aside from the tune. It'll probably never see a trail unless you count the gravel road at the track leading up to the paddock.
Honestly I’d recommend something with your rear springs. The Wheelers/Dever/etc three-leaf-add-a-leaf, also called the progressive add-a-leaf will up your bed capacity beyond the factory spec 43lbs of cargo. It’ll bump you to 100-200lbs of capacity. If you are towing or carrying a real heavy load with any regularity, I’ve had amazing success with rear bags.
sucks that I have a TON of work into the taco, that I actually use, and I’m often looked at like one of the instaqueens. Well, except for my winch, I’ve used it a handful of times, never once to recover myself. Mostly to move shit out of the trail or yank idiots out of ditches.
Absolutely true, and the most frustrating part is they're always the nicest and most humble folks
I wish I had gotten into motorsports the moment I got my license, rather than waiting 8+ years (and getting into a bunch of automotive trouble in the meantime). I could've saved myself so much money on tickets. But my wife and I are both heavily involved in our local SCCA region now, and date night has become 'wings after racing night'
Folks took my license at age 17 and made me put myself through Skip Barber, after I dumbassed myself into a ditch. I started Autox and SSB when u was about 2yrs into driving. Also worked as a chassis engineer for a NATCC later WC T2 team for a bit there. Have a couple local wins killing cones, but never was that good. I was too broke at the time to even afford goodish rubber. Learned early on… there’s always someone faster. Ran an event more recently, I’ll stick to track events.
