I have a BS in Computer Science (emphasis in Information Systems) earned in 1995. Ended up staying with my college job (UPS) and getting promoted a few times. KIND of used the degree. Ended up being an "automation specialist" of sorts, dealing with voice recognition systems, industrial controls, 2D barcode readers, writing and supporting database-based package sorting and tracking software, working on laser dimensioning systems... Lots of variety.
Had I to do it again, not sure what I would have done, just not what I'm doing
Not making enough money for what my skills and experience are, and unfortunately working at a specific company for 23 years dulls you down to company-specific skills. Never wanted to be a programming cube-monkey, but in retrospect maybe that was the way to go. Dunno.
