Signapore is tough, because of the saftey cars and the fact you can almost go as slow as you like without getting passed... usually the top runner in a team gets priority pitting, to prevent the other team mate undercutting like it happened yesterday...
But in Singapore everyone is managing the pace for tires, waiting for a safety car.. if LEC blinked first, Lewis would do the oposite and hope for a safety car, position being more crucial due to the difficulty of passing... by pitting the teams second car running, you attempt to induce the other teams to pit as well...
It is what it is, arguably both LEC wins have been thanks to Vettel covering him, because in those cases, that was the best strategy.... sometimes it doesn't work out... this was the best strategy, unless you want to be like mercedes and get on the radio and tell Bottas to slow down so Lewis can slot in ahead after waiting for a safety car to no avail...
