245/40 Michelin as3+ on fifteen52 chicanes 18x8.5 et45, stock height. The fitment is perfect and has a meaty look.

I get occasional rub on some really big dips on the freeway but it would be solved with the fender screw mod.

Would like to see some examples and which tire brand. Definitely like the look of michelins but not sure if it's in the budget.

The newer michelins seem to run about 10mm fatter than the size suggests at least in the PS4s...

If you have the stock Hankook S1 noble2...they seem to run a little narrower...

I would love to know if the ride is softer too with these fat tires....I am currently running 235's all seasons on 18" neuspeed rse12's....the ride is rather harsh...you feel every imperfection and this is with stock suspension.

Yes, it’s always going to be softer.

However it’s got to be the same tire.

Switch from soft sidewall Potenzas to something like a RE-71R and it won’t be.

XM, the car looks fantastic with that setup, I dig the meaty look especially after the DG springs. Your pics sold me on that setup and just ordered the springs.

Yes it is softer. However most people don’t know to adjust the PSI to match the new tire‘s load rating. Basically, the stock tire load rating at 38 psi is the same as running the PS4S 245/40/18 at 33psi. More comfortable ride and turn-in response doesn’t suffer.

I did this... and on spirited driving the tires were wearing beyond the wear indicators on the PS4s with 2.0 deg of camber. I would not recommend placing them that low, they seem to have a sidewall on the soft side.

Exactly. I run 245/40 17 RE71R's. Pretty stiff.

Any rubbing on these? What width/offset wheels? Would love to run these for autox.

I ran GS for 2 years without any rubbing at all. I have a set of Konig runlites in 17 x 7.5 et45.

I'm moving time trials, so a set RSe16's in 17 x 8.5 are on the way. I'll let you know how it all fits.

Oops, read your post wrong, was considering 18s instead of 17s. But maybe a set of rse05s for both winter and autox use would work well... (With a tire swap ofc)

17" 200tw tires are about $40 each cheaper than 18's in similar widths and I go through 2 to 3 sets a year, so that's why I use them. 17" wheels are also cheaper. That's my main motivation. If you're going to track and you aren't rich, being smart with consumables is essential. That's why I just upgraded to the Macan brembo calipers. They're cheap, allow me to run inexpensive common pads and I sold my PP brakes for about half what I paid for the Macan setup. PP pads are more expensive and less choices.

VMR v701 18x8.5 et45, Michelin PSS 245/40r18, stock suspension. I removed the fender screw, but I'm not sure I needed to. It doesn't rub anywhere so far. I may lower it later, but I kind of like this stance.

Perfectly flush with et45 and no spacers.
