So if I get this right, the general consensus is to go to an VW specialist, not the dealer, for an end of warranty inspection?

I won't tune the car. But if the clutch needs to be changed within 5 year, for me that's less than 60 000miles/100000km, I have to choose between going to the dealer and using the same oem clutch :( or going to a VW shop and getting a better one. Going to a VW shop might void the warranty...

$2K is too much money for something that should last much longer. Once you get a new clutch from a reliable shop, will I get any issue getting warranty work from VW dealers? My service adviser is blaming my car shampoo (chemical guys) for my sunroof and wind noises on my 2017 GTI... I can't...

Having the same issue right now, the little tab is there but no it won't go back into the silver button. I'll call the dealer tomorrow, the car is under warranty, will they try to charge me anyway??? Will see.
