When I was creating my weight savings spreadsheet, I called Neuspeed about the caliper weight.

With the regular paddle shifters, you need your hands at 9 and 3 which is fine for spirited driving (that's where your hands should be).
But if you want to paddle shift from the standard 10 and 2 position, it's not an easy reach at all (long pinky stretch). The extensions help with that.
